Mahalo for all your input and support.  This year, I served as the Vice Chair for the Agriculture Committee and on the Finance Committee, the Tourism, Culture, and International Affairs Committee, and the Economic Revitalization, Business, and Military Affairs Committee.  With your help, we had many successes. 

Despite the tough economic times, we were able to promote small business and agriculture, increase access to health care, invest in education, and encourage the development of affordable housing.  For our district, we had a particularly successful session as we designated funds to improve our schools, bridges and roads, and passed new laws for Kahana Valley and for families that are endangered by neighboring hazards.

We still face many challenges.  But with challenges come opportunities. Together, we can:

• promote local business and agriculture,
• reduce traffic without paving over paradise,
• help families in need,
• implement community plans,
• protect public beach access,
• keep the Windward side country, and
• support affordable housing, not more luxury developments.
